Iowa Democrats will have their caucuses in early January. Iowa tax coffers are scheduled to be augmented by additional sales tax within this quarter from the sales of pumpkins. Pumpkins you say? Of course. Numerous governments at all levels have become creative taxers: if it moves, tax it! If it doesn't move, tax it anyway!
As reported by Ken Fuson of the Des Moines Register: "Renee Mulvey, the department's [Iowa Department of Revenue] spokeswoman, said officials decided that pumpkins are used primarily for Halloween decorations, not food, and should be taxed. Previously, they had been considered an edible squash and exempted from the tax."
Wow! Golly Gee! That's great logic used by the Department. Tax the kids for carving their pumpkins. Tax the adults for decorating their porches. But, wait! There is an exemption. If the consumer fills out an exemption form stating that the pumpkin will be used for food, then it remains non-taxable. I suggest getting the exemption and cleaning, roasting, and eating the seeds. You can carve or discard the unused container as you wish. Now, does the Department really expect total consumer honesty on the exemption form? Many embattled consumers will say the pumpkins purchased are for food and then go ahead and carve them.
Naturally, the only way for the Department to protect its new tax is to create a task force of armed state police to go to the houses of the signed exemptees and check whether or not the aforesaid pumpkins are really in the pumpkin pie and not on the front porch.
In the near future, will the State determine as taxable all oranges and cloves used together for Christmas decorations? And cranberries and popcorn used to trim a tree? Or peppermint canes used for house decoration? Or rice used at weddings? Or tomatoes thrown at bad actors? Or the eggs so often on my face? The list goes on.
Congratulations and a large, one-handed applause to the Iowa Department of Revenue for a job well done.
Flash!!! Per CNN: "Iowa Governor Chet Culver on Wednesday ordered the Department of Revenue "to do the common sense thing" and offer refunds for anyone affected by the 'ridiculous' policy." [It took him long enough. People all over the country are laughing at the Io-way of taxation.]
*Wow! I didn't realize I was so influential. I just wrote this thing and bam! The Governor woke up from his beauty sleep and---'acted wisely.'

Welcome to the 21st Century 103
From the Associated Press - "Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) reached an annual target of selling 100 million energy-efficient light bulbs ahead of schedule after heavily marketing them as a way for consumers to save money and fight global warming, the retailer said Tuesday" [a month or so ago.]
Previously [April 15, 2007 - income tax filing deadline day; I wonder if there's a connection?], many manufacturers agreed to "cap the total mercury content in [fluorescent lights] of less than 25 watts at 5 milligrams (mg) per unit. The total mercury content of [fluorescent lights] that use 25 to 40 watts of electricity will be capped at 6 mg per unit."
You do the math, although I've done some of it. 100 million bulbs at, probably, 6 mg per unit equals around 13,227 pounds of mercury. And that's just one retailer. Assuming that Walmart has, oh say, 20% of the market, it means that total sales might be around 500 million bulbs, thus potentially producing about 66,135 pounds of mercury discarded. This must pleasure the environmentalists. Tons and tons of mercury from discarded and broken lights to foul our wetlands, dumps, and general suburbs. Brought to you by the greenies---protectors of the helpless snail darters and tree frogs. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not necessarily against snail darters or tree frogs. I just don't think they should be getting precedence over human beings. And I dislike the idea of promoting a light bulb that will foul the environment so much more than incandescent bulb production and use. The 'greenies' are pushing for power plants to become so pollution free as to make oil and coal impossible to use. I suppose then, we can run our power plants on really big batteries?
From the Associated Press: Silly String, a children's toy that was used to subdue Cosmo Kramer a few years back [and made a guest appearance in the movie 'BIG'], is useful to US soldiers in Iraq as a bomb detector of sorts. "Soldiers can shoot Silly String, which travels up to 12 feet [3.6 meters], across a room before entering. If the foamy string hangs in the air, that indicates a possible trip wire...The effort to ship the Silly String has taken months because its aerosol can is considered a hazardous material, and only certain companies can ship it." And, I can guess, some of the soldiers are shooting each other with it during the off hours.
I suppose a 'grass roots' organization [from San Francisco, especially] will now start with an effort to ban the dangerous substance because the military uses it. Kids beware! Your toy may be banned everywhere except your hidden tree houses.
The City of Los Angeles removed a cross from its official seal. Why? Because the ACLU insisted. It's a Christian symbol, after all, and they can't condone that. Naturally, there was a pile of protests leading to a high court petition to review the decision. The cross has been part of the seal since 1957. Incidentally, the first settlers of the LA area were Spanish missionaries, and the name, Los Angeles, is short for the original name: El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula, [The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels on the River Porciúncula.] Will ACLU demand a name change? How about San Francisco? San Diego? San Gabriel? and all the other Sans?
I was going to mention a few items about the Democrats wanting to raise taxes, but I suddenly remembered that such a desire is not new with the 21st Century. They've been doing it for years, and people like Charles Rangel always go that route. If you're a Democrat, honk! If you're a Democrat, kneel down before the enemy! If you're a Democrat, raise taxes!
In May 2007, the 'Liberal' group MoveOn.org warned Democrats that if they appeared to capitulate to 'Bush' and not remove the troops from Iraq and thus give up on protecting the lives of millions or Iraqis and securing the protection and freedoms of the US citizens...pant...rest...pant...rest, the unity they enjoy will immediately disappear... Why threaten them? If the Democrats weren't around, nobody would pay attention to MoveOn.org anyway. Perhaps the threat should be the other way around.
Carlyle Group [one of the world’s largest private equity firms; $75.6 + billion under management; 55 investment funds] sold a 7.5% stake in its ownership to Mubadala, a part of Abu Dhabi's government. And of course, if Carlyle goes public and the price share drops, Abu Dhabi will be compensated. Previously, Blackstone Group [a global alternative asset manager and provider of financial advisory services...total assets under management of about $91.8 billion...] sold a 10% stake to the Chinese government. Abu Dhabi also bought part of Apollo Management in July.
WorldNetDaily.com tells us - the Emirate of Dubai is acquiring about 20% of NASDAQ and 28% of the London Stock Exchange.
Well, I guess you just open the door, invite the adversary in, and let him take over the household. Offer him his slippers, a drink and bodyguard. Light his narghila. After all, using tents is a cheap alternative for us anyway.
As noted by the International Herald Tribune, even the neutral Swiss are having their problems. A poster of the Swiss Peoples Party [SVP] in the mountain country shows: Three white sheep stand on the Swiss flag, as one of them kicks a single black sheep away. The Liberals say it is racist and polarizing the country's electorate. Rocks and tear gas are the tools of the day.
The illegal immigrant message is appealing to the voters who have seen the country become "a haven for foreigners, including political refugees from places like Kosovo and Rwanda." "Our political enemies think the poster is racist, but it just gives a simple message," said Bruno Walliser, a chimney sweep who is running for Parliament on the party ticket at the Schwerzenbach rally, on a farm outside of Zurich. "The black sheep is not any black sheep that doesn't fit into the family. It's the foreign criminal who doesn't belong here, the one that doesn't obey Swiss law. We don't want him."
Over a million and a half Swiss residents are foreign nationals, "and the SVP argues that a disproportionate number of them are law-breakers. The party says many of the country's drug dealers are foreign, and according to federal statistics about 70 percent of the prison population is non-Swiss."
From Ian Traynor, of the Guardian [British newspaper]: "Switzerland's rightwing People's party [SVP], accused of racism and fanning Islamophobia, strengthened its position as the country's leading political force yesterday, gaining more than 2 percentage points to win a general election for the second time in a row, according to projections."
I'm not close enough to the Swiss news to make a determination about 'racism', but I believe there's little substance in the opponents' derisive use of 'Islamophobia.' A fear of Islam. Certainly, any clear thinking adult recognizes the extreme danger from Islam as practiced today. And the lawlessness of non-citizens in a country is not a phenomenon only of Switzerland. Many countries, including the US, face similar problems. But, like those countries, we have a plethora of Liberals willing to look the other way while the house is robbed and the family raped.
From Yahoo News - "Mexican President Felipe Calderon criticized the planned U.S. border fence designed to stem illegal immigration, saying countries should be "building bridges, not fences"...
On ABC television's "Good Morning America," Calderon ...said the way to stop illegal immigration is to build economic growth and opportunities in Mexico, not fences."
I guess that means that we should pay Mexico to keep its citizens in its own country? And, of course, Mexico doesn't have to do anything, does it?
The Windsor [Ontario] Star - notes that "city shelters filled and a surge of further refugee claimants expected to flood into Windsor...Mayor Eddie Francis is pleading for financial help from Ottawa. "When there is a possibility of adding thousands to the local social assistance system as a result of refugee claimants crossing the border into Windsor, we will become overwhelmed and our current resources will not suffice," Francis wrote in a letter sent Wednesday [a few weeks ago] to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
"I don't believe that Windsor's residents and taxpayers should have to foot the bill for U.S. immigration policy," Francis told The Star. He was referring to the suspected source of the problem -- a recently begun crackdown on illegal immigrants in economically struggling regions of the U.S. South.
Let's see...hmmm...Illegal Mexican immigrants are the fault of the US. I know, I know. The Mexican government is blameless. The great satan US is responsible for everything. Blame Bush! Blame Cheney!
And so goes the 21st Century. I believe that by the advent of the 22nd Century, the World may very well be under stronger Islamic influence. No Western culture per se; burqas and prayer rugs everywhere; female circumcision, honor killings and misogynism rule the day; cheap oil but no cars left because nobody built any; Edwin the camel-driver, now appearing in major cities; New York City Jinrickshaws Inc.; Jews and Christians hiding in catacombs; Liberals cowering in fear and panic wondering what the h*ll happened to their martinis and designer clothes and seaside homes; and all due to our own stupidity.
Thanks Liberals.
Our 218 year experiment at a democratic republic is failing, and the modern Liberals are pulling it down, along with denigrating and destroying Christians and Jews, Conservatives, Republicans, national security, national influence, and economic prosperity. Is this the end of Rico?

Welcome to the 21st Century 102.
More signs of the times and what is awaiting us in the 21st Century.
Many Christians in Iraq, including converts, are being crucified by terrorists says a Dutch politician.
Great Britain is considering a law to provide for Islamic studies for all students. In addition, they would employ Muslim scholars to teach Islamic theology, and the schools must have Islamic chaplains and Muslim prayer rooms,
Ever heard of Jamaat ul-Fulqra? - "We are fighting to destroy the enemy. We are dealing with evil and its roots and its roots are America," says Sheikh Mubarek Ali Gilani, Founder of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistani terrorist organization. Jamaat ul-Fuqra has created more that 45 training compounds throught the US. The compounds, which have firing ranges and obstacle courses, are actually paramilitary training grounds for new recruits, most of whom are African American converts to Islam during their prison time. Where are they? you might ask?: Hancock NY; Hyattsville MD; Falls Church VA; York SC; Dover TN; Buena Vista CO; Talihina OK; Tulane Country CA; Squaw Valley CA. And, of course, Macon GA; Red House VA. Two are near Toronto. Some even have landing strips and elaborate bunkers.
A "charitable organization", Muslims of the Americas, provides money to Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which has officers in Tallahassee FL; Binghamton NY; Springfield MA; Dover DE; and Roanoke VA.
As long as they don't sell Girl Scout cookies, eh Nancy?
Portland Press Herald - Maine Sunday Telegram...rest...pant...rest...pant..."Students who have parental permission to be treated at King Middle School's health center would be able to get birth control prescriptions under a proposal that the Portland School Committee will consider Wednesday." [Students in the middle school are generally between 11 and 13 years old, and no notification of parents would be required.]
And Yahoo News: "After an outbreak of pregnancies among middle school girls, education officials in this city have decided to allow allow one school's health center [King Middle School] to make birth control pills available to girls as young as 11."
Newsbusters tells us - Singer Sheryl Crow wants us to save toilet paper, using only two or three sheets per visit, perhaps washing them out like paper towels.
Says Sheryl: "Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating. One of my favorites is in the area of forest conservation which we heavily rely on for oxygen. I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required. When presenting this idea to my younger brother, who's judgment I trust implicitly, he proposed taking it one step further. I believe his quote was, 'how bout just washing the one square out.'"
Now I know why I have always kept my distance from Sheryl. I don't want to be a brown noser or anything.
Global Warming up? British Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks, spoke to a group of environment ministers: "humankind is in a race for life against global warming," and doubters are "the equivalent of the Flat Earth Society."
But, I thought the Earth was flat! Isn't that a Muslim belief? I mean, those guys are still living in the 7th Century, right?
From Vin Suprynowicz of Red Orbit - "There are some who, lacking the ecstatic thrill of any other faith-based religion, wish to believe that the Earth is in the early stages of an unprecedented climatic change which will see temperatures soar, the polar ice caps melt, rising sea levels flood our coastal cities - general devastation on the biblical model - all because we insist on driving petroleum-fueled private automobiles and using electricity generated by burning coal. - Now, this is almost entirely fantastic nonsense. The planet is currently warming at a rate of perhaps one degree a century, part of an ongoing cycle of global warming and cooling which (ice cores and other fossil records tell us) has been ongoing for millions of years. This is caused not primarily by CO levels - changes in atmospheric CO loading actually trail temperature shifts by decades or even centuries - but rather by fluctuating solar activity. Even if CO were a factor, most of the CO in the atmosphere comes from volcanoes and the natural processes of the oceans, not from man- made sources."
Again, 'Nuff said.
Some scientists are claiming that humans, one of only millions of earthly species, use almost a quarter of the sun's energy captured by plants. And, of course, that's tragic. I guess we have to get rid of our sun rooms, sunny dispositions, sun bunnies, Sundays, and 'sunbitches.'
According to Fox News, there's a report that fat Americans can blame it all on a virus. Human stem cells, exposed to a certain virus [no idea which one] turned to fat cells. Well, why not loose that virus on the Middle East, and we can 'fat' them to death.
Is anyone unsure about the Liberal sway of the Nobel Prize committee anymore? For 2007, they gave the Peace Prize to AlGoracle and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [IPCC,] a UN sub-division. Lying and misrepresentation remains high among the Prize Committee's criteria for the peace prize. The IPCC doesn't do research itself, it just picks and chooses other scientists' work based on it's own criteria---firmly entrenched in the global warming fiasco.
In 2006, they bestowed it on Muhammed Yunus and his Grameen Bank, pretty much for lending money to poor Bangladeshis.
For 2005, we had another UN sub-division in the International Atomic Energy Agency and its leader Mohamed ElBaradei.
Anyone wonder why the Peace Prize keeps finding Arabs, fat people and UN agencies? None of them has anything to do with the propagation of what they ostensibly regulate.
In 2004, we had Dr. Wangari Muta Maathai of Kenya receiving the prize for 'her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.' She's an environmental and political activist [Liberal] best known for organizing the planting of 30 million plus trees.
In 2003, the committee went to Iran for Sirin Ebadi or her 'significant and pioneering efforts for democracy and human rights, especially women's and children's rights. Her claim to fame is apparently being a lawyer and activist. I can't find out much about her. And Iran remains a violently repressive society.
Most of these people are probably good people, but hardly deserving of a $$$ prize for World peace. A high majority of the World population wouldn't recognize their names or benefit from their efforts.
Now, we arrive back at 2002 and Jimmy Carter. Carter was our 39th President, and barely managed to raise himself to 39th position on the best President chart. The Nobel committee claimed the prize was for 'his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.' Actually, I think it was mostly for his outspoken anti-semitism [a UN specialty] and ability to inspire high unemployment, general malaise, and 22% interest rates in the US during his Presidency. Other than that, he helps build a few houses [photo ops] for the poor and bashes the US in venues outside the country. His policy of peace is to allow the enemy to walk all over him and our country. In short, he's been a disgrace since he landed on the national and international scenes.
Finally, in 2001, we have Kofi Annan, the Secretary General of the UN. I believe he received his prize for his stout anti-Americanism [another UN specialty] and finely-tuned corruption in the UN organization.
Personally, I don't think any of the 21st Century prize recipients do or did much for peace. They were thoroughly Liberal, though.
Returning to the Goracle and his 2007 prize, Patrick Ruffini and others wonder what climate change paranoia and junk science has to do with peace. One would better side with the opinion of a British judge who wisely ruled that Gore's movie was littered with untruths. He specifically identified nine major ones, and "some of the claims were wrong and had arisen in 'the context of alarmism and exaggeration.'” Most intelligent Americans could come up with many other errors and misrepresentations. Global Warming is a god and the Goracle is his prophet. God [the real one] help us all!
See you again shortly.

Welcome to the 21st Century 101
Here we are in the Century of technology. We're all living lives of comfort and satisfaction; lives of safety and happiness. The Liberals of the World have made it safe for all of us, so long as we wear burqas, have homemade circumcisions, and pray to the East five times a day.
Liberals fix the Earth! Our income will lightly taxed---excuse me, lightly left after tax, and our dozen soldiers will be brightly outfitted and fiercely trained.
Horrors to all this! We have to join together to prevent the 'Liberalization' of our society. Be afraid, be very afraid.
These words are not meant to trash Islam, per se, or immigration, per se, but to acknowledge the perversion of these two concepts in the 21st Century. We live in reality, so we must acknowledge and deal with it.
From Jennifer Korducki of ABC15.com - Two illegal immigrants were indicted for armed robbery, theft, and aggravated assault. One, of course, blamed the crime on Arizona's new employer sanctions law. He needed the money after being laid off. The devil made him do it. Suggested Action: deport his butt.
From Atlas Shrugs - Cliffside Park, NJ schools closed for a Muslim holiday [October 11] this year. The school district is the first in Bergen County to observe the Muslim holiday marking the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.
But, still no mention of Christmas or Channukah in the classroom, eh?
From Fox News, we hear that "A dentist [Woodland CA] accused of fondling the breasts of 27 female patients is trying to keep his dental license by arguing that chest massages are an appropriate procedure in certain cases. Mark Anderson's lawyer says dental journals discuss the need to massage the pectoral muscles to treat a common jaw problem. Police say Anderson said during recorded phone calls that he routinely massaged patients' chests to treat temporo-mandibular joint disorder, or TMJ, which causes neck and head pain."
Now that's an explanation to cherish. I'm sure the women understood perfectly.
From Atlas Shrugs - Stefanie Coyote, Executive Director of the San Francisco Film Commission refused permission to the United States Marines to film a recruiting spot on California Street, or on the pedestrian walkway on the Golden Gate Bridge. A quote of Stefanie says: "Not on my bridge are you going to put your Marines."
Apparently, Stefanie owns the bridge and city streets and lets the public use it out of the goodness of her heart. And keep in mind that, if another Dirty Harry film is scheduled for SF, she'll welcome it with open arms. "I just love Mr. Westplant! or SouthTwig! or whatever the heck his name is." "Film your commercials on empty streets and you won't get recruits. So there!"
From Michael Medved - California's new 'civil unions' law permits convicts---who had gay partners before incarceration---to have 'conjugal visits', the same as marrieds. Besides the fact that the state is condoning perversion, what ever happened to the concept of punishment for crimes against your fellow citizens?
From the Catholic World News - Bolivia's President Evo Morales wants to replace the feast of Corpus Christi [Body of Christ; a Bolivian national holiday] with a day dedicated to the Sun god. The socialist President is a sun-worshipper. [I wonder if he'll require nude romps on the sun-baked beaches for the new holiday?]
Atlas Shrugs again - University of Michigan-Dearborn is scheduled to spend tuition receipts of $25,000 for Muslim foot-washing stations at the school. And you thought a quiet invasion was impossible.
Dr Sanity says - "This is a world where there is no objective reality or truth; a world where, if you believe something is true, then it is. In other words, it is a world where something can be considered "fake but accurate"; where a "religion of peace" beheads people regularly and is so terrified of women's sexuality they must "liberate" them by forcing them to wear sacks over their bodies. It is a world where this religion, with a straight face, promotes blowing one's self up in a crowd as a devout religious act; and where 21st century men dance around a man in a coma, celebrating his "out of body" experience." 'Nuff said.
Tampa Florida - Two women dressed complete with abayas and burqas robbed a bank. A great disguise since the PC Liberals would never ask a Muslim woman to uncover her head. I can just see the line-up now. "Number three, don't close your eyes. We need to see your eyeballs." By the way, the local paper made no mention of the disguises. [Didn't want to confuse the issue, I guess. Or maybe the editor couldn't spell burqa or abaya] This type of thing also occurred in the Poconos, Canada, and several other places---little of which was reported by the accurate and open main-stream media.
From somewhere else - "A Christian in Pakistan is under a death sentence for for insulting Islam." And "There were deadly Muslim riots in Denmark because of some anti-Islam cartoons."
Remember the recent plot to explode a bomb at JFK airport? It was traced to Muslim terrorists, but the NY Times, in its infinite wisdom, buried the story on page 37---and then had the gall to defend the placement!
How many Islamic women have had their throats slit by [un-punished] Muslim males because they didn't cover themselves properly?
Per Insight Magazine - “Our initial investigation has concluded there are between 400 to 500 radical Islamic centers in the U.S.,” said David Gaubatz, the director of counterintelligence and counterterrorism for the Society of Americans for National Existence. “In those places, they preach an extreme version of Islam that says America and the West is the enemy. They espouse violence, hatred and the need for terrorism.”
Thanks to Claus Christian Malzahn - Almost half of Germans think the US is more dangerous to World Peace than Iran. This from the people of the Kaiser, Hitler, Auschwitz and the rest of the Third Reich.
WND Reports - Kansas City International Airport built foot-washing benches to appease the growing number of Muslim taxi drivers who wanted them for daily Muslim prayers. Isn't it bad enough we have them driving our taxis?
The al-Muhajiiroun network marches on - A member repeats the group's mantra: 'we do not seek to coexist with other religions in America, we seek to dominate them. And the Muslims march on. MIT liguistics professor, Noam Chomsky, praises Hamas and denounces America on Hezbollah Television---they can't feed and clothe their people, but they can broadcast Muslim nonsense. Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, invited the suicide-attack supporter, Sheikh Yosef al-Quaradawi to visit his city. Columbia University invitee, Iranian President Ahmadinejad wants a World without America, or so he says at a Teheran Peace Conference attended by American Mennonites, Quakers, Episcopalians, Methodists, et al.
In Tennessee, the Muslim contract employees of Dell Inc. reached a settlement with the company. After a month or so of striking, they will be reinstated with back pay and granted religious accommodation. And, of course, managers will recive sensitivity training.
Again from Pamela at Atlas Shrugs - The Saudis can continue to cover-up their support for al-Qaeda and Hamas, thanks to Saudi billionaire Khalid bin Mahfouz and Cambridge University Press. After forceful requests of the billionaire, the publisher pulped surviving copies of 'Alms of Jihad: Charity and Terrorism in the Islamic World. An apology was issued to the gentle giant from Saudi Arabia, and the Press paid his legal expenses and damages. Furthermore, the Press asked Librarians around the World to pull the book from their shelves. 'Holy Cowardness, Batman!'
From Pamela again - An ACLUless public school in San Diego set aside a quarter of an hour of classroom instruction for Muslim students' prayers---while other students stare at the ceiling. the school cafeteria has banned pork and other non-Islamic foods. Arabic was added to the curriculum, and the classes were segregated by sex.
Luckily, a public outcry required the rollback of some of these things. The school gave the Muslims a separate lunch period for their prayers. Do the teachers have to carry scimitars?
But, sooner or later, public outcry will come too late to stem the tide of assininity.
See you again shortly.

Prop-a-Panda?
From time to time---actually regularly---we hear the Liberals spouting about right-wing propaganda and whining about how damaging it is to America. From the Liberal Answers.com, we get the Liberal definition of ideas and comments contrary to their own: Propaganda - "information which is false or twisted." They and it are definitely off the path of truth.
The situation is, propaganda---as the Liberals define it [see above]---comes strictly from the Left. In their own definition, they are culpable at promoting lies and twisted truths to their own ends. They and no one else.
Conservatives, on the other hand, view Propaganda in themselves in the classical sense where it is neutral in presentation and effect. It's an attempt at persuasion of the emotions and intellect to the speaker's point of view. Nothing wrong with that, is there? I'm sure Rush and the other radio hosts would agree. Conservatives are interested in truth and exchange of ideas.
The American History Dictionary defines Propaganda as: "The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause." Score one for the Conservatives.
From Barron's Marketing Dictionary: Propaganda - "Message conveyed in order to support and spread a particular opinion or point of view, engaging both the intellect and the emotions of the audience." Score two for the Conservatives.
Finally, from the Military History Companion [Oxford University Press] we have: Propaganda is a word derived from the Vatican's establishment of the Sacre Congregatio de Propaganda Fide in 1622. It is a process of persuasion designed to induce ideas, opinions, or actions beneficial to the source. As a process, it is value-neutral although the word has acquired pejorative meaning. Analysis of propaganda would more profitably benefit by examination of intentions." Score three for the Conservatives. The Liberals tried a slide but they missed the plate. "Yer out!"
Whether or not Rush Limbaugh is a source of propaganda remains to be seen. He may irritate some people---usually Liberals---but he doesn't lie. Any mistakes made or erroneous data are not lies, and I think everyone knows it. So, Liberal people and trolls, get off the 'Bash Rush' bandwagon and try disseminating what few---if any---truths there might be in the Liberal philosophy or intentions. Anything positive to say about yourselves?
One of the things that keeps America strong and alert is talk radio, whether it be about politics, music, or sports. Speech and exchange of ideas is vital to life, and the Liberal attempts at the official 'fairness' doctrine [or giving the Liberals an equal, unappreciated and unpopular voice for their inane ideas] are directly opposed to sanity. If a particular broadcast can't draw an audience [such as Air America], then there's something wrong with the message, the hosts, or both. No big surprise there. Conservative hosts reach ready and willing ears [long bombarded by the slanted, oftimes vicious and erroneous Liberal media] interested in truth and viable ways of creating change and better living conditions---whether on the local or national scene.
Liberals only want Panda-moan-ium, don't they
